Microzone was initiated and developed by Dr Hedda Steingrimsdottir, a no-nonsense, creative, solution-oriented scientist. Passionate about solving clients’ DNA and PCR issues, Hedda saw a need for reliable PCR mastermixes in the market.
She launched Microzone with her first product, MegaMix, and continuously sought ways to simplify and enhance the work of researchers and diagnosticians. Today we continue this legacy with a team focused on expanding our growing range of reliable and cost-effective tools for molecular biologists.

Megamix
Our first master mix, which provided ease of use, consistency in DNA amplification, and stability between batches. It revolutionised lab workflows by eliminating the need to purchase and assemble individual components.
Free From Range
Novel products for DNA extraction and post-PCR clean-up without the use of columns, magnetic beads, solvents, or alcohols. These products are quick, easy to use, and yield high-purity DNA from various sample types.
MicroLYSIS
A range of buffers allowing direct-to-PCR from samples like tissue, microbes, and viruses without further purification. This includes rapid genotyping and viral identification.
Post PCR Clean Up
Including MicroCLEAN and MacroCLEAN, these methods simplify DNA clean-up post-PCR and are environmentally friendly, using single tubes.
