The MAGneat gDNA Extraction Kit efficiently purifies high molecular weight DNA from a broad range of samples, including whole blood (collected in EDTA, Heparin or Citrate), saliva (fresh or stabilized), tissue samples and bacteria. See the instructions for use in the download section below.
Microzone’s proprietary buffer formulations and MAGneat magnetic beads ensure that high quality DNA is retrieved from even the toughest of samples. The MAGneat magnetic beads bind to DNA reversibly and selectively, purifying higher molecular weight DNA compared to spin column based methods while also being perfect for automation.
The MAGneat gDNA Extraction kit has been tested and verified for use with HeiDi-NA automated bead processing system. The HeiDi-NA can process sixteen samples at a time. This leaves the operator to be free of manual operations and obtain excellent dsDNA at the end of the run.
Carousel images show excellent extraction and purification of high molecular weight gDNA from tissue. This is the same for blood and saliva samples (data not shown but available). Slides or Saliva and blood show excellent and consistent yield using the kit.

Table 1. Highly pure genomic DNA extracted from fresh saliva with MAGneat Blood Tissue Saliva DNA Extraction Kit. Genomic DNA was extracted with MAGneat Blood Tissue Saliva Extraction Kit from human fresh saliva samples obtained from five different donors. Analysis was carried out using the NP80 Touch Nanophotometer (Implen – Germany) to determine DNA concentration, A260/A280 & A260/230 ratios.
DNA Yield Comparison of Fresh and Frozen Whole Blood Samples obtained in Sodium Citrate, EDTA & Sodium Heparin collection tubes. Whole blood samples were collected from 3 different donors in 3 collection tubes: sodium citrate, EDTA and sodium heparin. DNA extraction was performed in triplicates with MAGneat Blood Tissue Saliva DNA Extraction Kit and DNA concentration was was measured using the Qubit 4 Fluorometer (ThermoFisher – USA).
High-molecular weight genomic DNA from both Gram-Positive and Gram-Negative bacteria extracted with MAGneat DNA extraction kit. Bacterial genomic DNA was extracted from Staphylococcus aureus, Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using MAGneat gDNA extraction kit. 5 mL of the eluted DNA was loaded to 1% agarose gel for DNA analysis. M = 1 kb DNA ladder.
DNA yield comparison from a range of bacteria species extracted using the MAGneat gDNA Extraction Kit and a comparator N. DNA from 50 mg (wet weight) of both gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) and gram-negative bacteria (Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) cells was extracted with MAGneat gDNA extraction kit and a comparator. DNA concentration was measured using the Qubit 4 Fluorometer from ThermoFisher.
