Description

The DNAmite Plant Kit is a fast, solventโ€‘free, columnโ€‘free system that delivers clean plant gDNA in under an hour using a simple singleโ€‘tube workflow. Designed for tough, inhibitorโ€‘rich plant tissues, it produces highโ€‘quality DNA ideal for PCR and qPCR while reducing plastic waste and avoiding harsh chemicals. Part of Microzoneโ€™s ecoโ€‘friendly Free-From range, itโ€™s optimised for reliable amplification across diverse species.

Principle of the Kit
The DNAmite Plant DNA Extraction Kit is based on a chemical lysis and selective precipitation principle for the isolation of genomic DNA from plant tissue. The lysis solution disrupts plant cells and releases DNA, while the precipitation solution removes cellular debris, proteins, and other contaminants. The DNA-containing supernatant is then treated with a capture solution that promotes DNA precipitation, allowing the DNA to be collected by centrifugation and subsequently resuspended in water or TE buffer. Thus, the kit separates DNA from other cellular components through sequential cell lysis, contaminant precipitation, and DNA precipitation, without the use of silica spin columns or magnetic beads.
